EVT 19 - Educational Tours of Marrakech schools & Workshops on "Live Together"
PRESENTATION OF THE SESSION
For several years now, Morocco and Belgium have been experimenting with tools for Living Together in several schools thanks to the support of the Belgian NGO Echos Communication in partnership with UCLG Africa. These animations are the result of scientific advances in cognitive psychology, social psychology and neuro-cognitive and behavioural approach. They are based on an approach that promotes integration in a fun way. Ultimately, the objective is to work on improving the Living Together in schools and thus on improving the well-being of children, in particular by reducing any discrimination to which they are subjected by adults but also any discrimination to which they are subjected by other children. The project began on February 10, 2016. It particularly affects children aged 9 to 14 years. The project is divided into four stages at school level: diagnosis, training, monitoring and evaluation.
The results already recorded from this project have shown a change in the behaviour and attitudes of adults as well as those of children who are making significant gains on the issue of gender (boy-daughter), origin, affirmation of personal opinion and finally relational mixing instead of exclusion. In June 2017, more than 30 facilitators were trained and carried out interventions in more than 30 schools in the Oriental Region. Impacts: 3500 children participated in the activities.
During the Africities Summit, it will be a question of welcoming some schools from the Marrakech Region (children from 10 to 14 years old) with the support of the Parents' Association and the AREF of Marrakech to visit the AF8 lounge and participate in an EVE workshop at the heart of the Africities Summit.
