PRESENTATION OF THE SESSION

Zattu, the pioneer of the “Makeit movement” (a creative thinking approach for empowering the african youth) in collaboration with Sound Diplomacy and Legacy 1995 will gather feedback from the audience by engaging them with the Makeit 100k proposal. This approach is expected to set the tone for developing global branding Strategies for African Cities and the case study here will be Lagos Africa's biggest mega city whilst the focus will be on the existing creative and cultural assets such as its Heritage (Legacy 1995); Music economy (Sound Diplomacy) and Youth demography (Local Government Initiatives). This session will leverage on the cultural heritage narrative called "Old Lagos" through a fire-side conversation with Legacy 1995, Sound Diplomacy, Trace Naija and Arkounting to discuss strategies that can make Lagos the preferred Media and Entertainment destination on the continent. This conversations will explore how Sound Diplomacy’s Music Policy and development strategy can be integrated into the Makeit 100k training scheme.
