PRESENTATION OF THE SESSION

Financing is one of the fundamental questions that African states must address in order to ensure the transition to sustainable development. To this end, the strong orientations of the African Union's Agenda 2063, the New Urban Agenda,... insist on strengthening the mobilization of local resources, including the implementation of effective, transparent and harmonized systems. Here and there, African local authorities have been able to grasp international guidelines on sustainable development and propose unique strategies for mobilizing local resources. Thus, technological innovations have been explicitly identified as a mechanism for the growth of these resources. This session will present best practices in the use of NICTs to strengthen the financial autonomy of decentralized communities.
