PRESENTATION OF THE SESSION

WDO advocates innovation focused on industrial design that contributes to a better world, engaging more than 150 member organizations in collaborative efforts and implementing international programs - World Design Capital®, World Design TalksTM, World Design Impact Prize, World Design Day TM and Interdesign. WDO has special consultative status with the United Nations. The purpose of this Session is to present and advocate on the role of design in local governance and how design can contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa (in particular ODD 11 on cities) as well as the New Urban Programme adopted in Quito.

Summary

The Session is divided into 5 moments:

  1. Opening and introduction (10 m), by a speech by the Chair of the Session and a short presentation of the Session by the facilitator.
  2. The Presentations
  3. Discussions
  4. The Rapporteur will present his conclusions and recommendations before the conclusion of the work by the Chairman.
  5. Signing of Partnership Agreements with UCLG-Africa
