Coordinator of the Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights of UCLG

Amanda Flety holds a Master degree of Geopolitics from the French Institute of Geopolitics (IFG). She majored in conflicts related to urban development, specially gentrification and discrimination issues. She is commited to the acknowledgment of local development and local democracy in peripheral cities, as such, she worked during six years for a local government as « political adviser» of the President of Plaine Commune, a working class area gathering 9 cities of the Greater Paris. She was in charge of the follow up on public policies on social and solidarity economy/local development, inclusion of socially marginalized groups and urban ecology. Since 2018, Amanda Flety is the coordinator of the Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights of UCLG, the worldwide network of local governments
